"Dear Jim,

Recently I engaged your company to replace two of our outside doors. Based on the quality of the work your company performed, we have now added gutters as well. The entire process, from listening to our needs, explaining the bids we received to the final installation was handled professionally. Needless to say, I am quite pleased with the quality of the material used and the entire installation.

As a homeowner, it becomes necessary to engage outside services to keep things working properly. I wish every contractor we used was as professional as New Windows for America.

You are doing business correctly and I will not hesitate to engage your services again or recommend you to others.

Job well done!"

The Friday after Thanksgiving, commonly called Black Friday, marks the official beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Department stores and retailers offer huge sales and deals. If you’ve ever tried to shop on this day, you know that it can be overwhelming. If you plan to shop till you drop this year, check our these survival tips:

Prepare for an exhausting day. Get plenty of sleep and dress comfortably. Leave the kids at home. Arrive early. Prepare yourself mentally to deal with crowds and sleep-deprived shoppers.

  • Do your research. Bring ads with you. Ads can be time-sensitive, so know which stores you need to hit first. Familiarize yourself with the store’s layout in advance so you can find what you’re looking for quickly.
  • Research products and prices in advance. Make sure you're getting a good deal. Check sites like FatWallet.com, BlackFridayAds.com,
GottaDeal.com, and DealTaker.com for Black Friday ads, coupons for extra savings, and specials.
  • Double-check coupons, rebates, and store policies ahead of time. Ask retailers if they have a guaranteed lowest price policy. Know return policies. Get gift receipts.
  • Shop with a friend so you’ll have company while you’re in line. Split up and work as a team to get the best deals from multiple locations.
If you plan to wait in line for more than a couple of hours, dress warmly and bring something warm to drink while you wait. Make sure you’re physically able to handle the weather—don’t
endanger your health just to save a few bucks.
  • Mind your manners. Don’t start the holiday season by arguing with other shoppers. Be considerate and don't get too greedy.
  • Keep valuables safe. Don’t leave merchandise in your car while you go out to lunch. Criminals know all about Black Friday too.
  • Don't assume that the best deals are only on Black Friday. At this point in the season, it’s too early to tell how deeply the retailers will cut prices. If you don't shop on Black Friday, that doesn’t mean you won’t still get a good deal.
  • Be wary of impulse buys. Retailers discount a few items deeply to draw you into the store and hope you’ll buy other less-discounted merchandise once you’re there.
  • Skip the crowds and shop online on Cyber Monday. Online retailers now offer big savings and incentives to get people to shop online on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Or, shop early on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving while everyone else is at the grocery store as many sales start early.
Slow Cooker Macaroni
and Cheese
Ingredients:

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
(an 8-ounce box isn't quite 2 cups)
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, cut into pieces
2 1/2 cups (about 10 ounces) grated sharp cheddar cheese
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon black peppe

Preparation:

Boil the macaroni in a 2-quart saucepan in plenty of water until tender, about 7 minutes. Drain. In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts. In a slow cooker, combine cheese/butter mixture. Add eggs, sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard, and pepper and stir well. Add drained macaroni and stir again. Set the slow cooker on low setting and cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
