It is Father’s Day this month, so if we're talking remodels, we need to talk the "manly" kind! What updates can be done to your property that your husband would really enjoy? We have collected a few ideas to get your creative juices going.
Man Cave: Finishing an existing basement is becoming a home necessity for your testosterone strapped man. Theater rooms and custom bars are bringing the movie and tailgating experience inside for him to enjoy with all his “cave-men”. For better of for worse this space may keep him eternally at home and in the basement.
Outdoors: Your outdoor space can become a whole new living area. Does hubby love to grill out for the family? Why not expand your deck, patio, or porch and create a space for him to do it in style? You might create an entire outdoor kitchen and eating area with a fireplace, sink, refrigerator and barbecue pit.
Gaming: Does your man love video games? You can create a gaming center for him in the basement. Built-in shelves for his games, projector screen for ultimate viewing and of course a gaming chair with speakers and plugs and that vibrates to get him loose and ready for competition!
Sports: Create a space for your sports fan to indulge in his passion.
A flat screen tv, thick carpeting to help keep the roar of the crowd to a minimum and a small refrigerator so he doesn't miss a second of his favorite team are a few options to get you started. Revamp your spare bedroom and make it a getaway place for him and his buds to enjoy sports in their down time.
Garage remodels: Take a look at your garage and see if you can’t portion off a section just for him. Have overhead hooks and brackets installed to store holiday decorations, bikes, and sports equipment. For all his tools and toys you might have an organizational system installed with bins, drawers, shelves, cabinets, and a workbench. Or if your garage is too small; consider a garage addition or separate garage workshop for him to store all is tools and toys in.
So many remodels, so little time! Men, if you're reading this – feel free to leave the computer on and open to this page to inspire your wives for this year’s Father’s Day gift.
